Antibes - 10 June 2003

Antibes was really the start of Helen's return trail visiting places she remembered from her time in France as a child and young teenager.

We anchored off rather than enter harbour; this is super boat and super price country but there is plenty of space and shelter to anchor. It was a 5 minute row to a little beach with direct access to the harbour and Antibes itself (or a 20 motor into the harbour!).

Here we are anchored off the Grimaldi chateau which is now the Picasso Museum.. See Helen with sculpture and Walkaway in the background.

When I had met the Miram family in Palavas-les Flots, they kindly gave me a yachting magazine which told of a traditional boat regatta in Antibes between the 10th and 14th of June and here we were. In reality we saw few "gems" but, where we did pass, the camera was an absolute must!

We were hoping to see Noona Ayres, an old Bosham friend whilst in Antibes but sadly, diaries could not be matched.
