Palavas-les Flots and Port Guardian 28/29 May
Palavas-les Flots was merely a staging post in my effort to move round the very flat and uninteresting coast of the Golfe de Lion and to escape the windy weather that seems to dominate this coast. In beauty terms it has little to offer but has lots of tourists because of the beaches. However, as I was wandering round the town to find a post card, I was spotted by sharp eyes Lucy. Would you believe it, the Mirams family had decided, at the last minute to take a canal boat holiday for a week and just happened to be there. I escaped their view and was lost but phone calls to Helen, texts flying everywhere and lo and behold they appeared onboard Walkaway an hour later donned in clothers over Pyjamas - they had been real sports as they were just getting into their bunks.. Really such fun to see them and introduce them to Walkaway, all the more so for the totally unexpected almost bizzar nature of the meeting. Cooincidences really do brighten your day. Palavas-les Flots
Another Port of Convenience 29 May with much the same comments as above but no Mirams!!! Much the poorer for it. Narrow packed streets with holidaymakers with nothing to do when they get over roasted on the beach.
Port Guardian

This part of the country seems to have a bull ring at the centre of each village. This happened to bull fight day - been there and done it so no interest in attending. Luckily the French do not kill the bulls.
