Puerto Cervo - 6 July 2003

Puerto Cervo is just one of those places you have to go to see how silly arse it is. This is a marina planned for Super Yachts and to rob Super Yachts. Massive (joke) as Walkaway is, she is too small for Puerto Cervo and in any event the pocket could not afford it. A coffee is an arm and a leg but worth having just so you can wince at the pain.

The passage to P. Cervo and the spectacular backdrop to the entrance is worthy and once inside there is room to anchor clear of the fairway, though there is not the capacity for many such tiddlers.

Below is a view of one of the main jetties; the saving grace was the traditional boats who appeared for a rally. Below right the Yacht Club and Marina complex.

Interestingly I went ashore for some water and was unceremoniously chased off the jetty by the many staff.

Here is one of the massive private homes that surround the Port. However there is hardly any village infrastructure to support the Port; the marina is it!

Get the picture!!

So hanging around was not on the menue and Walkaway sailed back to the La Maddalena Islands and Cala Spalmatore.
