Cassis 1 June

Now well into Provence and feeling extremely good that we are out of the worst of the Tramontane zone even if the Mistrale has taken its place (a Northerly wind that blows down the Rhone valley that can be felt at Gale force as far away as Corsica!).

Cassis is an idilic little place, as near as I have been able to find to Honfleur on the Normandy Coast. Small with no useable roads around the perimeter you berth right alongside footpath, cafe, bar or restaurant. Here I was bows to opposite a Hotel cafe; lovely shady spot and exactly 8 meters from jumping onboard!

The castle chateau in the background. That really is living in style. Chateau backdrop

Really the most photogenic place. Anyone sailing this coast who misses out Cassis will need to have their heads examined.

Only complaint was that this is the first time the seagulls got their aim right. Talk about Guano in the morning and on my new sail cover. Not amused.
