Fertillia

Fertillia is a strange place. Built by Mussolini as a worker's town, it is plain and utilitarian, with slab sided four story flats. Its centre contains three coffee stops, one small supermarket, a baker, a grocer, a butcher and a couple of small restaurants; thats it. However it has an hourly bus to Alghero, its close to the airport and Ryan Air, and the yard has a car it lends to the inmates so you are not cut off.

Having been rude, it has its own charm and, for the yachtsman, it is economic and protected from the NW prevailing winds.

Opposite Fertillia as seen from seaward.

Below left, the town church and, right, the boat yard in the river.

So the season is over, all that is left is to lift out.
